Hackers siphoned 0,7 billion rubles out of CBRF correspondent account of Metallinvestbank
The incident was revealed on the 29th February. Hackers have siphoned out more than 677 million rubles. Stolen funds were transferred to the personal accounts in different Russian banks.
Having fallen a victim of the cyberattack, the bank has completely reconstructed the data security system. The most part of those sums which have been stolen now are located on the suspended accounts in different banks which have been received to personal accounts as per Metallinvestbank. These banks have returned part of funds.
On March 1st 2016, 19 banks have suffered similar cyberattacks, as the representative of the Central Bank informed. Repeatedly, the Central Bank had notified the participants of payment service of the Bank of Russia on necessity security measures in connection with similar attempts of theft of funds from credit institutions.
